    Setting Up

  1. Wherever possible 2 people should put out targets.
  2. Always use the trolley to transport targets and frames.
  3. Ensure the frame is fully extended before securing the front pin on the line (with a mallet, if necessary).
  4. Targets should be lifted by two people on to the frame.
  5. The rope should be attached to both sides of the target with pins and fully extended then secured by a pin to the ground behind the target.
  6. When putting away a target, two people should lift the target from the frame.
  7. General

  8. Targets for use with wooden arrows are marked with 'W' on the back.
  9. If equipment needs attention, notify others by writing the number of the equipment and the problem on the whiteboard in the social hut. Events to notify include:
    • If a pile is lost in a target and cannot be removed, mark the spot with a target pin and note the number.
    • stiff or broken target frames.
    • overly soft targets.
  10. Keep the equipment hut tidy to avoid trips.
  11. No juniors are allowed to set out equipment.
  12. All equipment eg. the trolley, when not in use should be kept behind the shooting line to avoid risk of damage.
  13. Read the manual handling leaflet on the notice board.
